A nice cup of crochet......

Thought I'd jump on the popular bandwagon of staging WIP with a nice cup of tea or coffee, but my coffee was so nice, I drank it......

MIUAYGA blanket....

I've decided to give this blanket a name.

MIUAYGA.

it's a 'Make It Up As You Go Along' blanket.

I had no plan.  It just evolved.....

I put it down during the Summer, as jewellery-making and brand new baby stuff took over, but aim to return to it shortly.

At the point of interruption it measures 42" unblocked, but will have to be blocked due to the inevitable twist that happens to a continuous square.  Blocking will stretch the blanket bigger.  I think I will probably add another 3-4" all around.

I had done a few more rows since the last post about it.

Boho Crochet - just up my street.

I was so pleased to pick up this lovely book that was edited by the late and great Marinke Slump, a.k.a. in the crochet world as Wink.

Like me, she also loved playing with colour.

Sometimes my local bookshop The Works, comes up trumps.

Playing with Prisma.

Prisma is my new toy.

It's an app that can turn photos into works of art.  I love what it can do to crochet items.....

Had great fun playing with it, as you can see.....

I've also been busy making jewellery over the last few months.

It seems that I tend to crochet in the colder months and make jewellery in the Summer - well that's how it's turned out this year.

I still haven't finished the blanket.  Well, I don't think I have finished it.  Who knows where I will stop?  When I do finally decide, I will block it and photograph the finale......

Anyway, back to the jewellery.

I had a bit of an earring-fest for a week or two.

60-odd pairs of earrings is quite good going.  Very soon I will drag the lightbox out and photograph them properly.  And who knows?  I might just get an online 'shop' going....

I've also been having a bit of a bracelet-fest, too.

And one of my favourites.  Hard work but very worth it....

The crystals have a gorgeous blue fire in them.....

Not gone.....just busy.....

I haven't posted for some time.  Have been busy making stuff though.

It's a bit hard when you first start a blog and there isn't much feedback, to keep the motivation going to keep posting.  Bit like playing a solo to an empty auditorium....😀

I do need to do more posting though.  Hopefully, the more I post, the more it will be seen.

The last few weeks have been busy.  I have a new baby grandson and have been crocheting bits for him.

This is a little cot-sized blanket.  Just the right size for the cot, his pram or car seat.

He's a dear little bubba, with a lovely head of copper hair (his Mum is auburn and his Dad is on the ginger spectrum...😀)

So it's been a busy time recently.  I have also been making jewellery, but I will leave that for another post.....

Changing shape......

Gone far enough with the straight rows.

Time to change tack and introduce a different aspect.

Out with the straight - in with the wavy......

Straight rows are good, but it's time to be a little more daring.....

Another few rows and it's taking shape nicely......

Can't wait to see where this takes me.......

Colours and stitches.....

Just love the randomness of this one.

No pattern, just the making it up kind of randomness.....

More muted and pastel colours, but then an occasional pop of orange, or lime green, or turquoise.

Blissfully pretty.

Not sure how large I am gonna go - will have to just see how the mood takes me.....

Crochet blankies......

They zing.  And they pop.  And I love them all.....

Don't they just make you want to go and pick up your crochet hook....right this minute.....?

Pendants....and more pendants.....

I've been making pendants.

It's been a bit of a pendant frenzy for a while....

But they are something to do whilst you are laid up nursing a broken leg.

It was a valid excuse for sitting on my backside creating, with my feet up.

I love making OOAK pieces.  Not your endless repetetive stuff.  Not the off-the-conveyer-belt stuff.

A snowy day in Wales.......

It's been a dismal Winter.

Dark, wet, murky, wet, dreary, and, oh, did I say wet......?

We were warned it rains a lot in Wales.

But there was a brief respite from the endless rain.  We had a few days of snow.

It wasn't thick, and we weren't wading through it, but at least it brightened things up a bit - and it wasn't raining......

If you peer closely, you can see the Brecon Beacons in the distance.

Nice photo of the mountains through the windscreen.....

There is a beauty in snow on mountains.  Ours may not be the Eiger or the Matterhorn, but they are beautiful in their own right.

And besides, Spring is coming......isn't it.....?
